As you may know (or maybe not), our office is a little obsessed with sustainable behaviours and zero waste to help in reducing our footprint on this earth. This includes saying no to straws (a simple but big step), carrying our own re-usable bag to be prepared at all times, using re-usable cups, buying big-size detergents to re-fill small existing containers, and even installing the office with more sustainable tissue and toilet rolls. Of course, sometimes we do end up using plastics because of food deliveries and packaging, but we try to limit those and concentrate on taking small steps to build a more sustainable planet – a little does go a long way!
Although we see a LOT of progress being made in the area of kitchen recycling, it seems like areas such as bathroom waste still are very fuzzy around the edges. We just don’t know. Zero Waste, a yearly event about landfill reduction held in Britain, reported that the cosmetic industry produces over 120 billion units of packaging every year and that the cardboard of those packaging alone contributes to the loss of 18 million acres of forest annually. So let’s all agree that this absolutely needs to be addressed. This is why we were absolutely thrilled when Her World Singapore contacted us to give them our 2-cents about this issue. And as an individual obsessed with all-round clean beauty, I was more than happy to contribute.
